Stone Benchtop Manufacturer 15kw Compressor System

Focus Industrial recently undertook a full factory fit out of a stone benchtop manufacturer. The manufacturer required a compressed air solution to provide clean and dry compressed air from a whisper quiet and efficient SB200-50D Rotary Screw Compressor.

With a constant flow requirement and ideal minimal pressure drop, Focus Industrial installed a 32mm Poly Piping ring main to ensure stabilized pressure at all points of the factory. With 25mm Poly Piping droppers dedicated for each outlet, the seamless transfer from the ring-main to each outlet ensures the high flow of 9-10 bar clean compressed air.

Where stone polishers and cutters will be used in the factory, Focus Industrial has included outlets with Filter Regulator Lubricators to feed into the tools. This addition ensures not only a pressure maximum of 100psi, but also oil lubricated compressed air keeping the air motors inside the air tools clean and lubricated for a much longer service life, far higher performance and preventing build up of rust and particulates inside the tool.

Requiring a quiet, efficient and premium quality Rotary Screw Air Compressor to operate their machinery and air tools, the client opted for the premium SB200-50D HD Rotary Screw Compressor. Quiet enough to hold general conversation right next to the machine under full load and with a compact footprint to match, the client was able to install this inside the factory without having to worry about disruption.

Producing 71cfm (2000lpm) at 10 bar (145psi), the SB200-50D guaranteed the compressed air ring main was maintained between 9 – 10 bar constantly. This was then regulated before tools and machinery down to 7-8 bar to avoid damage to seals and o’ring. Operating the ring main at a higher pressure to the required pressure utilizes it as a second compressed air reservoir.

The SB200-50D Premium Rotary Screw Compressor is designed to produce high quality, dry and oil free compressed air. The system design ensures the compressed air is dried prior to being stored in the compressed air receiver. The Dryer removes the moisture from the compressed air by cooling it from a vapour to a condensate droplet. This is then drained under pressure via the solenoid and condensate hose into an oil water separator or a capturing device.

As an added safety and to protect the manufacturing equipment, Focus Industrial installed 2 x FHO-80 inline oil coalescing filters, 1 pre and 1 post. The pre filter ensures air is filtered down to 1 micron and the post filter, finer again down to 0.01 micron. Each inline filter comes standard with an automatic condensate drain to remove any excess moisture.
